Founded in 1985, the winery of husband and wife Paolo and Noemia d’Amico, one descended from a
family of shipowners and a lifelong lover of wine, and the other of Portuguese origin and born in Rio de Janeiro, is located in the heart of Tuscia, in an area that stretches on the border between Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany. It all began about 30 years ago, when they decided to plant the first 5 hectares of vineyards with a Chardonnay base, a variety that to this day allows them to be very competitive on the market thanks to superlative products. Located in the valley of the Calanques, the current 30 hectares of land under conduction organic (non-certified) proliferate on a unique terroir: the long period of volcanic activity and the
consequent rock formation of tuff and peperino give Paolo and Noemia’s wines a refinement unique distinguished by a distinct minerality.
Villa Tirrena is also the place where d’Amico wines come to life! In a domain of 30 hectares you will find a stunning wine cellar: walking across the french oak barrels, with hundreds of candles illuminating the tuff vaults and the note of classic music, you can experience a private wine tasting just for you.
Paolo and Noemia d’Amico have pursued their passion for wine and have created an award-winning portfolio of 7 organic labels grown and produced in Umbria. Using mainly French vines, the volcanic soil of the Valle dei Calanchi adds a touch of class to all wines. Once produced, the wines are stored to the sound of classical music in the cellar created by Noemia d’Amico and the world-famous architect Luca Brasini.
